Enjoy music performed by musicians from age 12 to 80 at this annual spring concert performed by the Shoreline Concert Band, directed by Ken Noreen and this year's guest groups, Einstein Middle School Group, directed by Frank Halferty and the U of Washington Campus Concert Band, directed by Gary Brattin and Ethan Chessin at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at the Shorecrest Performing Arts Center. The theme, “Celebrate Spring” will feature selections from “Fiddler on the Roof," ”Stars and Stripes Forever,” and "The Magic of Andrew Lloyd Webber," and more.
Following tradition of the annual concert, a member of the President’s Own U.S. Marine Band in Washington, D.C., will be a featured soloist. This year's guest is Bass Trombonist Staff Sergeant Daniel Brady, who is considered one of the best in the nation. He will play “Blue Topaz," a beautiful solo that features the most extreme registers of the instrument. Brady will also appear with the Einstein group. The President's Band performs for all functions related to the White House, including the Presidential Inauguration. Brady's appearance is made possible by a grant from the SL/LFP Arts Council.
Tickets are available only at the door. The location is the Shorecrest Performing arts center, 15343 25th Ave. NE, Shoreline.
